The Pantanal - Chaco (PACHA) landscape is one of the most diverse on the planet., however, it has some of the highest deforestation rates in the world. Many of its crucial jaguar corridors are considered threatened. For this reason, the Wildlife Connect PACHA group was formed, composed of more than 30 jaguar and connectivity experts from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Paraguay. For more than a year, and with the technical support of the Center for Large Landscape Conservation, the experts proceeded to identify the important areas for jaguar conservation in PACHA and the ecological corridors that connect them.
Wildlife Connect aims to build on these successes in 4 additional landscapes, one on each continent
