EUROPE

The Carpathians are one of Europe’s last great wilderness areas, a haven for large carnivores such as brown bears, wolves and lynx, as well as the site of a comeback of Europe’s largest herbivore, the bison. However connectivity that these animals need is being challenged by habitat fragmentation, and the development of transport and other infrastructure.

Wildlife Connect aims to build on these successes in 4 additional landscapes, one on each continent

Asia: Central India landscape
Europe: Carpathians landscape
Latin America: Chaco-Pantanal (PACHA) landscape.
Africa: Southern Kenya Northern Tanzania (SOKNOT) landscape
